Women's Golf Team Finishes Third at Nebraska Wesleyan
The Truman State University women's golf team finished third this weekend at the Nebraska Wesleyan University Fall Invitational. The tournament was played on two separate courses on Friday and Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.
Truman tallied a two-day score of 687 (342-345) to finish 37 strokes back of first-place Nebraska-Kearney. Briar Cliff (Iowa) was second with a 675.
Each of the Bulldog golfers placed in the top 20 at the tournament, including junior Laura Potts (Quincy, Ill.), who finished ninth with her total of 169 (83-86). Sophomore Sara Mitchell (Salina, Kan./Salina South) was 12th overall, carding a 172 (88-84). Sophomore Amy Franzen (Highland, Ill.) also ended with a top-15 finish, carding a 174 (85-89).
Truman will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9-10 at Carterville, Ill., for the John A. Logan match-play invitational. The 'Dogs will then wrap up the fall season at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Tournament on Oct. 25-26.
