Women's Golf Squad Wins Rockhurst Invitational
Each Truman State University golfer placed in the top 10 in Monday's Rockhurst Invitational at the 5,832-yard, par 72 Claycrest Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo.
The Bulldogs finished first out of six teams in the tournament, tallying a score of 347 to win by 20 strokes over second-place Rockhurst. Baker University (Kan.) was third with a 373, followed by Newman University (Kan.) in fourth with a 392. William Woods University (Mo.) took fifth with a 393 score and William Jewell College (Mo.) carded a 455 for sixth.
Truman was led by medalist sophomore Sara Mitchell (Salina, Kan./Salina South) who shot an 83 for first place among individuals. Junior Carrie Catlett (Maysville, Mo.) finished with an 85 to tie for second place and junior Laura Potts (Quincy, Ill.) ended with an 89, tying for fifth.
Junior Chrissy Glover (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) shot a 90 to finish sixth and junior Betsy Driskill (Liberty, Mo.) ended with a 93, tying for ninth.
Truman will be off until Oct. 25-26, when it plays in the University of Missouri-Kansas City Tournament to close out the fall schedule.
