Truman Women Place Second in Division II Field at Nebraska Wesleyan
Three Bulldogs earned top seven finishes and the Truman women's golf team placed second in the Division II division at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 28-29).
Senior Becky Costello took fifth overall with her 163, which included her first career hole-in-one. Costello accomplished the feat on the 126-yard par 3 hole No. 16 at the Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. It marks the first Truman ace since 1997, when Jennifer Bierbaum charted one of her own.
Senior Amy Franzen placed sixth and was three strokes back of Costello with a 166. Junior Jill Schulte had a score of 167 to tie for seventh. Freshmen Katie Harms and Melissa Pfeiffer tallied marks of 178 and 194, respectively.
Nebraska-Kearney won the tournament by 20 strokes with a 654. Rockhurst finished in third behind Truman with a score of 696.
The 'Dogs will begin the month of October by playing at Northern Illinois on Oct. 7-8.
