Women's Golf Squad Places Third at Huskie Classic
The Truman State University women's golf team placed third on Monday afternoon at the Northern Illinois Huskie Classic in Huntley, Ill. The 'Dogs carded a two-day score of 694 to finish third in the tournament, which was won by Missouri-Kansas City with a 670.
Sophomore Erin Fogarty (Houston, Texas/St. Agnes Academy) led the way for the Bulldogs as she tied for third with a 165 (81-84). Senior Amy Franzen (Highland, Ill.) was just one stroke back with a 166 (83-83) and placed fifth in the final standings.
Three Truman golfers placed in positions 22-27, including junior Jill Schulte (St. Charles, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy), who finished 22nd after carding a 183 (93-90). Senior Becky Costello (Liberty, Mo.) was 24th with a 184 (86-98) and freshman Lauren Allen (Kirksville, Mo.) rounded out the Bulldog five with a score of 187 (92-95) for 27th.
Truman is slated to complete its fall schedule on Oct. 22-23 at Missouri-Kansas City.
