The Bulldogs scored the first points in the long rivalry on a 25-yard field goal by Kyle Fischer. They added another score when James Ross recovered a blocked punt in the endzone to give Truman a 10-0 lead.
But by halftime, the Gorillas had fought their way back to leave the game knotted at 10 all.
In the second half, PSU scored two touchdowns before the Bulldogs could answer with one of their own on a 5-yard pass from Nate Minnis to Chris Amick. The Gorillas sealed the victory with a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:03 left in the game, giving the 'Dogs their first MIAA loss.
